Symmetrical Brain Coral
During the day, the coral’s tiny polyps stay hidden safely inside the hard skeleton. But at night, they stretch out rings of tiny tentacles to catch drifting zooplankton from the water. This nightly feeding helps give the coral extra energy to keep growing.
Angel Shark
Angel sharks are experts at disappearing. Using their wide fins and powerful bodies, they shuffle and wiggle into soft sand or mud until almost their entire body is buried.
Giant Squid
Giant squid have some of the largest eyes in the entire animal kingdom. Their eyes can grow to about 27 centimetres across, roughly the size of a dinner plate. These enormous eyes help them collect tiny amounts of light in the deep ocean where sunlight barely reaches.
Whale Shark
Whale sharks are the largest fish in the entire world. Fully grown adults can reach lengths of around 18 metres, making them longer than a school bus. Even though they are called whale sharks, they are not whales at all.
